The January transfer window closes at 20:00 CET in Italy on Thursday, and the chances of AC Milan doing any last-minute business are decreasing.
As MilanNews reports, Milan evaluated various centre-back targets over the past few weeks including Tosin Adarabioyo, Lilian Brassier, Trevoh Chalobah, Jakub Kiwior, Clement Lenglet and lastly Merih Demiral.
However, for various reasons none of those will arrive between now and tomorrow night. In some cases the economic demands were too high, while loans were sought for others but the parent club would not relax their stance.
The additions
Matteo Gabbia: The defender returned from his loan spell at Villarreal six months early to help ease the defensive crisis amid injuries to Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw and Pierre Kalulu.
Filippo Terracciano: Unless there is any last minute news, Terracciano will be the only real new signing for Milan. He signed a contract until June 2028, joining from Hellas Verona for €4.5m plus bonuses.
The exits
Marco Pellegrino: The Argentine could still move on loan to Salernitana as per the report, even if there are reports FIFA will block it. The management and lawyers have remained in contact with the governing body to find a solution, updates will therefore follow.
Chaka Traorè: The winger could also leave Milan on loan and the most likely option at the moment is Lausanne, a team that plays in the Super League, the first division of the Swiss system.

No money = no signings. Fairly simple equation. So much pointless emotional energy expended by journalists and fans over the month of January, when the reality was that nothing was ever going to happen.
It’s not even that. There are rarely any big money moves in January. The transfer market all over Europe has been quiet. Even in the Premier League after a tightening of financial rules.
Pellegrino is not going anywhere. That move was blocked.
Second, very few players move in January. Anyone you sign now is either a free agent, or a fringe reinforcement. Not seeing any.
Like any good transfer window Milan will have finished in a weaker position than it started…

Makes sense. no knee jerk signings. no quality available on loan. repsectable defenders not available until the summer anyway. and Gabbia has been steady so far.

I’m not sure why we signed Terracciano. We really don’t need any position he plays in. If it’s fullback, we have Jiminez and Bart’s who we could have just given the playing time. Winger? Okafor. Unless he’s a DM in disguise or plays a position where we have a need, then I have no clue why he was bought. He’s probably going to warm the bench and given his latest mistake, probably won’t see him for the rest of the season especially when all the others come back
All smoke and mirrors LOL. We never had any intention to really spend on a striker or CB despite numerous claims otherwise. Redbird are fantastic at the PR SPIN. Distract and move. First it was a striker – many were in reach (Adams, Guirassy, etc,..) just like in summer- but instead we sis nothing and will stick with the prolific Jovic. Ok. Then a CB supposedly is coming with names like Chobalah, Brassier, Kiwior Lenglet etc… all players (save for Brassier) we had no chance in getting. Not surprising. We are practically guaranteed top 4 being that Napoli, Roma, Lazio, etc… are so poor this season, we are out of UCL and Coppa – so why spend?? after all this is moneyball. Can’t wait till summer when we sell Leao and either Mike or Theo – or even Benny to SA. Some fans will rejoice thinking we now have all these new $$ to spend – LOLOLO. I think they will be very disappointed. Tearing down a cohesive TEAM that made it to the UCL semi finals and replacing all its key players usually doesn’t end well. We shall see. Time will tell. But change is definitely coming.
Nobody teared down the team that made the CL semifinals. In fact we brought Gabbia back. Is this about Krunic? Oh come on. Form comes and form goes. And we took we had to, so he could go. I don’t think we’re going to sell any of those players. But since we are in the business of a crystal ball, can you give me some winning powerfully numbers?

Yea we lose cohesion each season but I dont think the current management sees this. The money spent on new players could have been spent on the ones that made the team strong. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the summer. It would be telling the direction we’re heading.
I also think media articles are getting printed instead of realistic interest in these players by the club. But they also print out articles of rock star image of Gerry so there’s that too. Maybe one hand feeds the other
Glad to see Simic is staying and we didn’t get another CB in addition to Gabbia. Now here is hoping we see him and Barts come on to defend leads for the next 6-8 weeks while the hospital wind clears.
