MN: Sporting success at the core as Milan face Serie A and Europa League evaluations

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan find themselves at an unusual crossroads in the season, with there being a fairly clear choice of two competitions that they can choose to prioritise.

As highlighted by Milan News, various club executives have talked about the need for on-pitch success as well as off-pitch success, with both generating revenues that can help to build the other.

Things certainly seem to be going well off of the pitch now in comparison to the past decade or so, which leads the focus more towards winning trophies.

Milan have Serie A and the Europa League to fight for, having been knocked out of the Coppa Italia. In Serie A, Milan are potentially as many as 11 points behind Inter, depending on this weekend’s results and the Nerazzurri’s game in hand.

There is no realistic way that Milan can be expected to win the title from here on in, they can just win their games and see what happens.

As for the Europa League, Milan are one of the on-paper favourites along with teams like Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen.

It is a tournament that contains a lot of games and a lot of unpredictability, but it seems like a much more viable option for a trophy than Serie A right now.
