Filippo Terracciano became AC Milan’s first new signing of the January transfer window yesterday and some interesting information has emerged regarding the role that is foreseen for him.
The club’s official website announced yesterday that Terracciano has put pen to paper on a contract with Milan that will run until 2028, therefore a four-and-a-half-year deal, while he will wear the No.38 shirt.
There are a number of reasons that he stood out to the management: his age (20), his potential, the fact that he has been a starter in Serie A for 18 months and the opportunity to snatch an Italian talent.
One of the biggest factors though is his versatility, given that he has played as many as five positions since graduating to the senior team at Verona.
According to what Antonio Vitiello is reporting in his column for MilanNews, there could be some surprises regarding the role that Terracciano is used in by head coach Stefano Pioli.
In addition to being able to play right and left-back, the 20-year-old can also play as a midfielder, something he had done every now and again for his former club.
The journalist adds that at present the idea at Milanello is to try him exactly there, as a right-sided box-to-box player who could thus alternate with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and provide a bit of cover.

He can’t even pass the ball properly, he is in on 70% successful passes and you know what full backs need to do with passing, pass to the closes player in midfield or CB. He can probably play that one day, but from what I saw from him he will do worse than Krunic in midfield.
If this not placed in the RB position ,it will be great repeated mistake just like CDK.

Reading this and his interview today I’m not sure he also knows either lol 😅. Let’s hope Pioli can clear that up. According to fotmob his primary position is RWB 🤷♂️.
And if anything, we know Pioli’s strength ISN’T figuring out where a player fits best. If his best position is RWB, this could be the beginning of the transition to 3-5-2 and Conte that everyone wants so bad. More evidence is the continued quest to sign another CB, despite Gabbia coming back and Simic emerging. Next up is selling Leao and Chukwueze in the summer and bringing in a striker and a defensive midfielder. Jesus wept.
