Pioli ‘not satisfied’ with Milan milestone: “I hope to achieve another 100 wins”

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli was awarded yesterday afternoon at Milanello for reaching 100 league victories, and he claimed that he is ‘not satisfied’ with that milestone being the final one.

As MilanNews write, Giorgio Furlani presented Pioli with a medal and it is actually an unusual instance of this happening, because usually one is only awarded for 100 appearances, but the club strongly wanted to remember his achievement.

During the ‘ceremony’ at Milanello, Furlani gave a speech underlining the prestige of the milestone of 100 victories with the Rossoneri and recalling the fact that he has reached 220 games in charge which puts him on par with Arrigo Sacchi.

Pioli thanked Furlani, the entire ownership and management, highlighting the great merit of the players in reaching 100 victories, thanks to their commitment and mentality.

“We are not satisfied, I hope to achieve another 100 wins,” he said.

The 100th win actually came last month during the 3-2 victory over Udinese, a game that was of course marred by the racial abuse that Mike Maignan suffered throughout.

Given the stories circulating regarding Pioli’s future and the idea that he might leave at the end of the season, he has certainly put his flag in the sand by saying he wishes to remain for another 100 wins.

Big mike looks good again between the sticks ..
Jovic looks useful sure he will get a game soon ..
    So carry on pioli ….
Let’s hope we reach the final of the Europa cup .
Let’s be honest fans we are doing well at the moment .no we won’t catch inter ,,but we could finish as runners up .

  2. The only way to have a go at another season is to win the EL, Stefano. I think he might be safe if he takes us to at least the semi’s and we lose to the likes of Bayern or Liverpool.

Good Luck, for the sake of both you and our club!
