AC Milan had two injury issues during the win over Monza at San Siro as Tommaso Pobega and Noah Okafor were both forced off.
Milan were forced into a change midway through the first half as Pobega went down with what looked like a muscle injury which meant he could not continue, and Jan-Carlo Simic came on to replace him, scoring a goal in his Serie A debut.
Okafor came off the bench to score the third goal but he wouldn’t have long to enjoy it as he pulled up with what looked like a hamstring injury, forcing him off with Samuel Chukwueze coming on in his place.
After the game, Pioli was asked about the condition of both the midfielder and the forward, with his comments to Sky relayed by MilanNews.
“Pobega seems to have a hip problem, while Okafor maybe a fatigue cramp, let’s see; Noah has just recovered from an injury to his other leg and we hope it’s nothing too serious,” he said.
Milan will certainly hope that neither have a length absence given that Yunus Musah was ruled out the day before and was replaced by Pobega, while Okafor added a third goal to his tally.
So sad, these injuries have almost ruined our 1st half of the season
There is clearly a problem with Milan’s medical center or the management of player injuries, it’s been several years now, and nothing changes!!!!
It’s not the doctors. They intervene AFTER a player gets injured. It’s the trainers. They should be all fired and replaced. When complete and healthy we play very well and would have survived the Champions League group stage, and would be challenging for the Scudetto. Inter plays the same core of healthy players game after game; they don’t have significant injuries. We are the #1 team in the world for muscle injuries in a single season. No kidding. I saw this stat. Something is OBVIOUSLY wrong with the trainers and it is mind-boggling that management does nothing to solve this problem.
I just wonder does these medical staff members ever feels ashamed and stupid, while they escort our injured players out of the field every week??
talent with glass feet, usually the story does not end well. they will spend more time on the bench than on the field.
While it’s good to see Okafor playing and scoring, I honestly feel it would have been better to remove Giroud instead of Leao, thus it should have been Jovic that came on instead of Okafor, and this new injury could have been avoided, another reason I wanted Jovic, it would have been another chance to get some minutes and continue his progress and development, it’s in everyone’s interest for Jovic to progress and be a success, as always Pioli clearly lacks a lot in man management….on the positive side of things, Simic and Bartaserghi playing was good, I just hop the other fringe players get to play….
Leao also just recovered from injury hence why he got sub by Okafor. And you can think every alternative “what if” here. But no one can predict injury even if they made a solid preparation.
I’m sure you can’t predict when you will get sick even if you do daily exercises and live a healthy lifestyle.
U just must find a way to blame pioli always.leao was not himself today aside that assist.he was looking totally exhausted and might be minutes from injury.who wud u protect first in such a game we were already comfortably leading, leao our best player who is not totally match fit yet or d fit giroud?
Pioli should have just started Jovic
Giroud looked like he was exhausted throughout the match
Exhausted? Yes. Definitely. Still good enough to provide the lovely assist to finish the game.
Stefano Pioli your tactical method is not Good at all I advised strictly to return to the 4-2-3-1 because our important players are getting injury in this 4-3-3 so I advised you to return to our popular formation to avoid injury
What’s formation have to do with injury? Lol
His comments are special. Just enjoy them.
After Okafor Scores, He goes to celebrate, and does an unusual thing. He crosses his legs and sits on his Ankle in a painful looking way, and then he comes off hurt. I think he hurt himself during the Celebration.
29 injuries so far. But wait, we’re not done… THERE’S MORE!
