AC Milan midfielder Tommaso Pobega has claimed that the team have been ‘super focused’ in their preparations for tonight’s game against Frosinone at San Siro.
After a hard-earned victory against Fiorentina last time out in Serie A, things were looking slightly less bleak for the Rossoneri. However, the defeat against Borussia Dortmund only further highlighted how weak Milan’s depth is currently in all areas of the pitch due to the injury crisis.
Milan need to win to keep up the pressure on Juventus – who beat Monza 2-1 last night – and Inter who are currently ahead in the table, with the Nerazzurri facing the tricky trip to champions Napoli.
Pobega spoke to Milan TV before the game against Frosinone and he spoke about the team’s preparation for the game, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“After Tuesday’s match we were concentrated and super focused on preparing for today’s match and giving the best possible performance. Frosinone have enthusiasm, quality, individuality and team play. We will try to use our qualities to put them in difficulty,” he said.
Interviewed by DAZN, he added: “I think that every time we play we try to give our best, when we train we try to implement the things the coach asks of us, we put our qualities to work to make the leap in quality every day. It’s a continuous process that we will continue to do.”
Frosinone have been one of the surprise packages in Serie A this season, after being promoted from Serie B in the 2022-23 season, as they sit in mid-table and away from relegation threat for now.
Frosinone have a manager that squeezes every bit of quality and potential from the players he has, including very young loanees whom he’s never worked with, and you can already see them gelling, one-third of the way through the season.
Must be nice!
