Real Valladolid defender Ivan Fresneda is not ruling out the idea of playing in Italy amid links with a move to AC Milan.
Matteo Moretto of Relevo recently reported that Barcelona have been trying for Fresneda recently but sources close to the situation have revealed that Milan are still in pursuit of the 18-year-old after the initial interest emerged last November.
Chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has been following Fresneda for a long time, and agreement with the player’s agent is close over personal terms, but what remains is to negotiate with Valladolid.
According to a report from TMW, Fresneda is in the sights of half of Europe. His name is on Milan’s list of targets and it seems obvious that he will leave Valladolid this summer, even though he could command a €20m fee.
The same source interviewed the teenager – who is currently playing for Spain in the U21 European Championships with a final against England today – and they asked him about his future.
“The truth is that right now I’m very concentrated on this competition. I’m very concentrated on the European Championship, after this competition I will make all the necessary assessments with the club.”
When asked about a possible future in Italy, Fresneda replied as follows: “Let’s see, let’s see… There’s no hurry, also because I’m fine in Valladolid. First the European Championship and then my future.”
