AC Milan are also in the race to sign Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid as they look to potentially recruit a new right-back, a report claims.
According to Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Barcelona have been trying for Fresneda recently but sources close to the situation have revealed that Milan are still in pursuit of the 18-year-old after the initial interest emerged last November.
Chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has been following Fresneda for a long time, and Valladolid knows it. Now that he has a more prominent role in the management the chances of seeing Fresneda in Italy have increased.
Borussia Dortmund are the team that have been trying the most to win the race since January but have backed down slightly for now. Milan have recently resumed contacts over Fresneda during talks over Luka Romero given they share a representative.
An agreement with the player’s agent is close over personal terms, but what remains is to negotiate with Valladolid. Next week we will probably know more about the situation, with Barcelona and Juventus also keen.
Calabria is the weak link of our defense so I think Fresneda is very needed. Someone with the same qualities as Theo but more defensive in his game. Good buy if it happens
