Jonathan David appears to be AC Milan’s No.1 target for the summer. However, a reinforcement could arrive already in January and the Rossoneri have set their sights on a Montpellier striker, a report claims.
The No.9 role has been a hot topic among Milan fans ever since the summer. Although Olivier Giroud has done very well recently, he also had a run of nine games without a goal earlier on. A reinforcement in January, therefore, could do a lot of good.
According to Corriere della Sera and Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, Milan have set their sights on Montepellier’s Akor Adams for the January window. The 23-year-old has seven goals this season and is very appreciated by the Rossoneri’s technical director, Geoffrey Moncada.
Adams is a tall and strong forward, but he doesn’t exactly lack pace either. Given how Milan tend to use their striker, it’s not a surprise that the Nigerian has ended up on the wish list. However, it remains to be seen if a January move is feasible.
Giroud is suspended for the next two games and that means Noah Okafor, or Luka Jovic, will get the chance up front. Stefano Pioli needs the duo to perform now more than ever, seeing as the Rossoneri are in a tough situation.
