Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno is keen on making the move to AC Milan if a deal is reached between the two clubs, but it might not be that simple with Granata president Urbano Cairo.
As has been reported by La Repubblica (via Milan News), the Italian defender is said to be interested in making the move across to Milan as they seek defensive depth.
It is known that Buongiorno had a meeting in Milan with his agent Beppe Riso recently just to discuss the players’ feelings about the move if it were to happen. There has been no official bid from Milan yet, but they are preparing for the eventuality.
It seems, though, that if Milan were to make a bid this week, it would only be the first in a long negotiation.
Cairo is not keen on the idea of losing one of his best players halfway through a season in which Torino have their eyes on a top-half finish.
For that reason, it could potentially take a bid in the region of €35m for Cairo to let Buongiorno leave in January. He would much rather the deal took place in the summer when more time can be put into finding a replacement.
