Stefano Pioli’s position at Milan has been heavily scrutinised in recent weeks and some are suggesting that the Newcastle clash will decide everything. According to a report, the Rossoneri could replace him with Ignazio Abate and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Milan suffered a tough defeat against Atalanta on Saturday evening and have now registered four of them in the league already. Inter are nine points ahead in the standings and the Champions League adventure could come to an end on Wednesday.
In short, the start to the season has not been very successful and Pioli must take a lot of responsibility for it. According to La Repubblica, as cited by PianetaMilan, the manager could be forced to leave the club in the event of a defeat against Newcastle.
Milan would then be ready to replace Pioli with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose return is imminent anyway, and the Primavera manager Ignazio Abate. Instead of a consultant to RedBird, the Swede would then be a caretaker/director at Milan to begin with.
Abate and Ibrahimovic have known each other for a long time, first playing together at Milan in 2010, and they are close friends off the pitch. The former has been very successful with the Primavera side this season, so his tactics mixed with Ibrahimovic’s mentality and experience could be interesting.

He is not getting fired mid season, mark my words. Even in events of not getting 2nd or 3rd place in CL group. The only way they will fire him in my opinion is if we start playing that bad and end outside top 4 by January(that can and probably will happen)

Abate was a coach of Milan under 16, under 19, next natural step is the first team.
Who knows he might be the next Capello or Pep.

Hi, Im from America. Although ive never followed Ibra throughout his carreer,.
The general take on Ibra is that he is some sort of Comedy Relief, a Clown of sorts, Desperete to stay relevant with no real moral compass or composure. Huffs and puffs, and the chuck-norris-type jokes are created from it.
I don’t know which was more painful over the past 10 years:
– the thousands of players we went through and ruined;
OR
– the numerous legends we ruined by hiring them as coaches without any qualifications….
Agree, hate to see abate ruin his coaching future by taking a big responsibility this early on. He’s been doimg great with primavera and i hope he bavomes a great coach 1 day and our coach. But hate to see him get burned out now.

Graham Potter if we want someone to coach what we have and build a team from it. Chelsea regressed under Lampard after Potter was sacked. Chelsea continues to founder under Poch.
Potter took Brighton to solid success. They played beautiful football under him.
