Alexander Simmehack was the big hero for AC Milan’s Primavera side earlier today as he scored a 93rd-minute winner. After the game, he spoke to the club’s official channel about his debut.
The 17-year-old arrived at the club on an initial loan deal from FC Copenhagen in August and has since been working to get into good condition. Today, he got to make his debut for Ignazio Abate’s side, entering the game in the 74th minute.
He responded in the best way possible, scoring the winner for Milan in the 93rd minute with a good finish from inside the box. After the game (see video below), he spoke to MilanTV and shared his thoughts on the special moment.
On scoring the winner…
“It’s wonderful, it’s been five months since I played my last under-19 match, so it couldn’t have been better: coming back, making my debut and scoring the winning goal.”
His arrival…
“They were very kind and tried to help, even though it’s tough sometimes when you cannot speak Italian yet. They have tried to help me as much as possible.”
On the game…
“Especially in the second half, we didn’t have a lot of control, there were a lot of counter-attacks. But it’s great to stand here with the win after hard work.”
What’s next…
“I want to try to avoid injuries, and then learn the playing style more. It’s tough in the first game when you don’t have relationships. We will work hard and stay focused,” he stated.
