AC Milan winger Junior Messias is closing in on a move to Genoa with his medical scheduled for tomorrow, according to reports.
Milan’s work on the transfer market continues. After the many signings, the Rossoneri management will also have to work on some exits to raise funds, free up wages and general trim the fat off the squad.
There are many players who could soon leave Milanello as they are no longer part of Stefano Pioli’s plans and one of them is Messias, given that there have been three right wingers arrive this summer.
According to Sky (via PianetaMilan), Messias will go to Genoa on loan with an obligation to buy. The Brazilian will be in Liguria tomorrow for medical visits as well, showing just how far along the deal is.
Messias has long been linked with a move to Turkey as Besiktas were keen but he expressed his willingness to stay in Serie A, and will get his wish.
Adios
Very good.
After rebic, now messias.
Origi, cdk, and hopefully krunic next.
Still curious what they’re going to do with saelemaker, I don’t see him getting play time this season apart maybe as a right back because the right wing spot is fully covered.
Or maybe they can try to play him as back up in mid field 3.
Good deal, I like Messias and his contribution in the past two years but at this point we need to aim higher. There is no place in the team for him at this point.
If also Ballo Toure and CDK leave, that means that we can either keep Origi or offload him and bring more players. Probably Bennacer won’t be registered in the lists either before January…
Bet it has some ridiculous clause like if they get relegated it doesn’t become an obligation and again we won’t monetise. Wish we could actually sell the players outright and have the money in the bank.
This isn’t Maldini’s Milan.
wow maldini’s hater detected
Oh I’m sorry he would just let players leave for free, including Donnarumma, Hakan, Kessie… all for free. No money collected to even reinvest. So we are stuck with Messias.
The difference in management now and before is night and day. No comparison. What we had before lost expensive players for nothing so we couldn’t reinvest.
I mostly agree with your comments and opinions but on this we disagree.
Maldini (while naive) was also taken advantage of by all three of those agents. Kessie (who is now in Saudi Arabia) due to his and his agents greed.
Gigio (again agents greed) regarding commissions.
And Hakan left to “win” a championship. Only to lose to Milan lol.
Maldini had faults but blaming him solely for losing these players for free is disengenuous. Players and agents promised certain things and then tried to extort Milan and Maldini. I applaud him for saying. The club is bigger than you.
That shows simple incompetence if you can be taken advantage of over and over again. He had a big part for not pushing for sales.
This management is obviously different and knows how to deal with contracts.
They all left for money, maldini is not in charge of the wage limit. But even then all of them wanted to leave. Not to mention Donna had only a year left when he took charge and there where nothing he could do to match psg offer.
Should have sold them when they had a year left. But no, he didn’t. He was in charge of sales.
And how can Maldini sell them if no one is making an offer for them?
@yelnats you think no one will interest in them? They are not deadwood… Donnaruma have many interest before… Do you think which one is easier sold rebic and messias or them… Dont be ridiculous…
Genoa will be a good place for him. Any word on the amount? This came as a surprise. So they really are working to sell off players. Unlike the prior management.
Hopefully he does well as I’ve always liked the Genoa clubs, (very sad to see samp go down)
Thank you Junior, for your deducation for the club. Your Cinderella life story is very inspiring. Wish you all the best.
Really a Cinderella story. He won a scudetto (with an important assist at penultimate matchday), he scored an UCL goal for AC Milan in his UCL debut. A great journey most of us can only dream of.
One million is one million, and in 2024 he is out of contract, so if Genoa pays 3 million more… thats ok deal.
But still Rebic left for free, now almost Messias.
Only good job is if we see how much club saved from salaries, such as: Bakayoko, Dest, Rebic, and even Tatarusanu, Vranckx, Diaz, Ibrahimovic, and i hope now Messias. More or less approximately 23 million in gross.
This is probably for 3 million. Rebic had a bad falling out with Pioli. He had to go. And he didn’t technically leave for free.
Thank you Messias. You scored some big goals for this team. probably 3 times as many as Saelemakers in less minutes but still not appreciated by some idiot fans on here.
Even if we get a small price at least we’re cutting down the wages and team numbers. I thank messias but he’s 32 and constantly injured so its nice to get him off the books
On the end of this season we will see that Messias will score more goals than Pulisic…
Goodbye Junior, even though most fans won’t give him the respect he deserves, to do what he did for any guy above the age of 25 is a dream come true, and he was a vital contributor, playing way above his level on multiple occasions and even scoring in the Champions League, from a delivery man, to a Champions League goalscorer. Salut, to a prosperous future for you.
I don’t have any disrespect for Messias to clarify and he has a fair number of goals scored for us in both seasons. 12 in total if I recall correctly.
I thank him and again, his story is an awesome one. Maybe he can join Genoa, help them stay up and further cement his Serie A status there.
In fact maybe he can score double digits for Genoa. I will watch Genoa when I can because they are an old favorite of mine.
The moment he gets to Genoa and Gilardino discovers that Messias has more techniques than he was allowed to show in Milan.
Anyway, all the best Messias. A last minute backup plan. He was signed on deadline day, because Milan wanted Romain Favre, but his club Brest felt disrespected and took him off the market.
Baffled why Pioli took him on the US tour when it was clear he was going to be sold.
I don’t think it was a bad move not to pick Favre up, it was a gamble in itself, from Brest to Lyon, from Lyon to Lorient(Loan), to Bournemouth, and back to Lorient on loan. Seems like he’s being passed around as the gamble might not have paid of for either Lyon or Bournemouth. Such a strange decision from not just the Brest but the players agent as well. For someone who is 25 he still hasn’t established himself at all considering he’s older than Pulisic, and considering that he is quite versatile being able to play RM, CM and LM. Baffling, just as baffling as Kessie and Milinkovic-Savic leaving for Saudi in their primes.
Adios Messias.
You also useful when I play Efootball against my friends!
We should keep Messias. He’s inexpensive and is always a threat when he’s on the field. Worse yet, he’s the kind of player that will cut his previous team when he plays against them.
