Tuttosport: Buongiorno presented rich Milan offer but won’t force move – the latest

By Ben Dixon -

AC Milan have been extensively linked with adding a defender to their ranks in the January mercato – that defender has become increasingly likely to be Alessandro Buongiorno. However, recent revelations have revealed that the Rossoneri may have to wait for him.

This morning, Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) revealed that a move is becoming increasingly unlikely to occur in January, even after Milan presented the defender with a contract until June 2029, with a rising salary amounting to between €2 and €3 million per season.

Furthermore, the report states that when Buongiorno’s agent, Giuseppe Riso, presented the deal offered by the Rossoneri to the 24-year-old, he, importantly, did not refuse the offer but refused to force Urbano Cairo’s hand by forcing a move.

The Granta’s president has no intention of selling the player, and, as a result, the defender will wait for Cairo to reach an agreement with a club for him, and only then will he proceed with negotiations out of respect for his current club.

For Torino, more cash is needed in the deal. Lorenzo Colombo, who would be included in the deal, is not worth €15m in the eyes of the Granata, but rather €10m – meaning that the Diavolo will have to offer at least another €10m in cash if they are to land the defender who is valued at between €35m-€40m.

  1. Buongiorno still needs to leave Torino at some point, otherwise he’s going to turn into the next Belotti and leave 5 years too late. If not now, then he has to go somewhere in the summer.

Torino has a history of doing this and it ruins careers.

  2. Caldara… Higuain… Bonucci… We have to go all the way back to Inzaghi to when we had a decent transfer off Jube. Don’t think I’m missing anyone in between 🤔

    1. Matri. I’ll never forget that fail. We bought Matri for 11M they bought Tevez for 9M 😀 Same transfer window

One of them scored 50 goals for his club the other 1. :O

      1. 😃 😀 😄
        That was a Galliani epic.
I remember when asked about Tevez, he said Tevez is a bad guy and that he will accept a pay cut to join us.

        Biggest regret I tell you.

  3. WE don’t have to sign a CB now in theory. If this kid is really a priority then Milan could wait to land him in the summer. This way you don’t have to sign a stop gap now.
