AC Milan did not make a big investment in a new striker for the future over the summer and the feeling is it will come next year, with several names targeted.
According to the latest from Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), the Milan management are having a look at Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee who has netted three goals this season, but he is not the only name.
Gift Orban of Gent and Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig are being monitored too, showing a clear inclincation towards signing a young centre-forward with potential.
Milan have been carefully following Jonathan David of Lille for some time and the Canadian striker is still at the top of the list, though he has an asking price of €50m and the competition from the Premier League could make things tough.
Another player that Milan are following and monitoring is the 22-year-old Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord, who has 12 goals in the first 8 matches played in the Eredivisie this season.
If we could get Gimenez at a decent price, it would be so worth it. He has so much promise and could lead us for years to come.
Yea but skill at the likes of Eredivisie level is hit & miss when translated to Italy. Reijnders worked out but CDK flopped… You never know what you’re getting.
CDK in Holland?
I completely agree, that’s why i mentioned a decent price! That league is a toss up in quality
CDK comes from Belgium, not Holland.
Also generally a great striker from Eredivisie will do well. Look at van Basten, Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, van Persie, Ibra, Luis Suarez, Bergkamp, de Jong, Kluivert…

He has improved a lot this year.

@Z. Joshua Zirkzee would be a very smart buy for Milan. Low cost and low risk. Already playing in Serie A and he has the physic to hold up the ball well.
Gimenez would be a good option but he will not come cheap. I’m not convinced on the other strikers.
Milan now have the base, the players we sign now must be world class or close too (for starting positions) otherwise we are not going forward.
It is Sesko who we should be aiming for and yes Zirkzee could be interesting addition but not our main striker.
We should make 3 big signings next summer including Scavlini, Sesko and Koperminers, or players at there level.
We ate in my opinion 3 very good players away from challenging for CL

We don’t really need Koopmeiners, we need someone like Camara, Florentino luiz, Ricci etc. So this is what I think we can do. First sign Ndidi for free (Contract ends in 2024), sell Krunic, buy Ricci, Roko Simic, Juan Miranda and Todibo. Scalvini is too expensive for us.

We need a starting striker, a defensive midfielder, a deputy Theo and competition for Calabria. That’s it. If we’re not selling anyone for big money, we’re going to have to do it on the cheap. Step one is Miranda coming in January for 6m. But if we’re only going to have the “usual” 50m in the summer it’s going to be difficult getting the striker and DM that we need. My gut is telling me that Theo is going to be sold. He will have 2 years left in 2024 and he is likely to ask 8-10m for a renewal. If we sell him for 60-89m we will have enough to get Giminez, a DM and RB to compete with Calabria. If we sell a CB like Thiaw or Kalulu for capital gain, I also think Scalvini would be a not notch replacement, but a good and cheaper alternative could be Buongiorno of Torino. Young, Italian, capped by Italy AND left-footed.

Not convinced that its remotely feasible but as he is an ac milan fan and already has earned enough money to live several lives without any financial issues the option should deffently be investigated if he would be interested to join on favourable terms for us. You never know if he can be persuaded and if he cares less about money than playing for us at this point of his career and he has said that he would never join any other team than ac milan in serie a so maybe theres a slim chance and that would be the ultimate statement signing for cardinale and wold immediately elevate this team to a different level.
