Tuttosport: Milan player ratings for Newcastle win – six get a 6.5 or higher

By Oliver Fisher -

A number of AC Milan players have been praised for playing their part in last night’s 2-1 win against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) this morning have published their ratings from the game and the highest mark goes to Mike Maignan, author of a sensational save on Bruno Guimaraes. Tthe French goalkeeper, once again decisive, deserved a 7.5 out of 10.

Good performances also came from Fikayo Tomori, Christian Pulisic and those who entered the field in the second half in attack, namely Luka Jovic, Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze, the latter having scored the winning goal. Each got a 6.5.

A score of 6 went to Theo Hernandez, Yunus Musah and Olivier Giroud, while Davide Calabria, Alessandro Florenzi, Tijjani Reijnders and Ruben Loftus-Cheek got 5.5.

However, the lowest rating went to Rafael Leao, the most eagerly-awaited player on the pitch after a month out due to a muscle problem. The Portuguese winger wasted two great opportunities to score and for this reason he deserved a 5.

  1. I guess the only good thing is that Chukwueze and Jovic did quite well, maybe if their good form continue we won’t regret having spent money on them.

  2. Reinjders was bad.. really really bad. Left the defence totally exposed many times. Wonder when RLC is going to come due 🤔..still getting a pass from the fanbase. Maybe he’ll boss Monza around and get back on the good books.

    1. I think this RLC=Gullit really was bad for us.
For Reijnders, it’s about time we bench him, with Bennacer back we have more options now.

  3. I don’t think Reijnders but I do see him hesitating to make quick passes in the final third. He hesitates.

But also he has pretty much played every minute of every game this season. He needs a break.
