AC Milan bowed out of the Coppa Italia at the quarter-final stage last night, losing 2-1 against Atalanta at San Siro in what was a very disappointing evening.
Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) has their player ratings from the game and the highest rating given out was a 6 out of 10, which went to Mike Maignan, Davide Calabria, Jan-Carlo Simic, Matteo Gabbia, Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leao plus to substitutes Simon Kjaer and Filippo Terracciano.
Yunus Musah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Olivier Giroud and Yacine Adli were each given a score of 5.5, while Tijjani Reijnders and Christian Pulisic got a 5 for unusually anonymous performances.
The lowest rating (4.5) instead went to two players who have impressed lately: Alex Jimenez and Luka Jovic. The former started well, but then ran into difficulty and also gave away the penalty for the winner (though it was controversial), while the Serbian never got into the game.
It was yet another bad result that came after a good run following the last defeat, which ironically was also against Atalanta.
Milan fans booed the team profusely after the game, knowing that a realistic trophy target had slipped away, and the writing might well be on the wall for Stefano Pioli now.
4.5 rating for Jimenez is extremely harsh. That lad played very in and out of his role as LB. That controversial penalty shouldn’t be enough reason to drop his rating to a 4.5
He was involved in both Atalanta-goals. If it were Bartesaghi in the starting 11 neither of the goals would have been conceded. So… Nope, the 4.5 rating isn’t harsh.
Bro dude was horrible. Just face the facts. Holm schooled him the entire game..
The only reason why you’re giving him a pass is because he’s a youth product. If his name was Calabria for instance, it’d be 4.5 or less all day
It’s a game of moments and fairly or unfairly his judgement is one of the big reasons we lost the game. Ok he got a
