Tuttosport: Milan watch on with clause in hand as Juventus target Frosinone star

By Ben Dixon -

AC Milan are not the only team currently thinking ahead to the summer mercato, and a report has emerged that their first revenue in the window could arrive from a sale for which they are not directly responsible.

The biggest part of the transfer window is revenue, and it seems that Milan could see themselves pocketing some money from a sale involving Frosinone.

Tuttosport (via Football Italia) reports that former Rossoneri midfielder Marco Brescianini is a summer target for Juventus, and they will attempt to sign him again at the end of the season after their January attempts were unsuccessful.

The report admits that the Bianconeri’s favoured target is Teun Koopmeiners, who has previously been linked with the Diavolo. However, they have and will continue to assess other options available to them in the summer.

The 24-year-old has been a vital player for Frosinone and has attracted other suitors as well – if a sale were to happen, the Rossoneri have a 50% sell-on clause.

    1. Buddy we won the league or did you forget. Without Locatelli. With Tonali we finished 5th. Kessi-Bennacer won us the league.

      1. Tonali was part of the team that won the league, and he was in fact crucial. Did you forget his late winner with Lazio that year? He really step up his game when we needed to win the most, not sure if the league would have been won without him.

    1. Sassuolo had good luck overvaluing their players. Until folks figured out that not every starter on a mid table team is worth 40M 🤣
Ditto on Locatelli he’s average not better or worse

    2. I think you misunderstood, Mikinho was scoffing at the suggestion that Brescianini is another Locatelli. I agree with that as he is nowhere near Locatelli’s class as a player.

Brescianini is pretty similar to Pobega. They’re both big and physical but are on the slow side with limited technical ability and range of passing.

Brescianini is a more defensive 8, even a DM, whereas Pobega is naturally more of an attacking 8 (Pioli has been refashioning into a more defensive 8 / DM).

Brescianini is showing he can play a role for a lower tier side, just as Pobega did well for Torino. That’s the appropriate level. It’s very surprising to read that Juventus is after Brescianini but it also makes a bit of sense if they want some reliable cover for a midfield that has lacked depth. I doubt he’d be in Juve’s Plan A or Plan B midfield.

As for Locatelli, we play Adli as a regista in a midfield with Reijnders and RLC. Our midfield routinely loses control of games for 45 to 60 minute stretches ball control and progression is a real problem. Locatelli walks straight into our midfield.

  1. As an Italian I will tell you, Tonali isn’t even close to Damiano Tomassi, he’s good in a range of the worst players we’ve had in the past 30 years. He’s basically Andrea Zanchetta with a better long range shot. If he played in the 90’s, 2000’s, or 2010’s he wouldn’t displace any player in that squads ..Tonali is as technically gifted as Francesco Lodi, and as defensively good as Roberto Baronio, he’s basically Samuel Dalla Bona
