In the lead-up to the January mercato, there has been a consistent expectation that AC Milan would sign a new striker. However, following the sharp upturn in Luka Jovic’s form, there is no longer a need to prioritise the position.
Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews reports that Milan are desperate for reinforcements in other areas, meaning that a striker is now a luxury. There are three long-term injuries in defence: Malick Thiaw, Pierre Kalulu and the latest, Fikayo Tomori.
As a result, two additions are required in central defence. The first is due to be Matteo Gabbia. However, the other remains a mystery as the Rossoneri venture down different avenues.
Since the game against Borussia Dortmund, Luka Jovic has refound his feet and looked like an entirely new addition for the Diavolo. He has dedicated himself to extra training, and it has shown on matchday, with three goals and an assist in five games.
As such, there is less focus on getting a striker in January. However, Milan will continue to watch the market and will specifically keep an eye on Serhou Guirassy. The Guinean striker has been on fire for Stuttgart this season, and his €17million release clause is tempting.
The need is a defender, and the club know this. However, it will also be a window of opportunity. If something arises, it could lead the Rossoneri to act, but it has to be right.
Defense Defense Defense. Need a CB a left back and a RB. And a DM. Striker is not a priority right now.
We need a CB, Theo deputy and a DM to replace Krunic.
Jovic needs more starts to see if he is starting quality or just a super sub.
Is it because the management meet deadlock with Serhou, and Stuttgart want to keep the player even if we pay the release clause. So they said this thing.
Shocking lol. Wonder if it could be we don’t want to spend the $$….just a wild guess 👀👀👀
there is Decesion Crisis in Milan management Giroud is not Real Striker.
How would they do if they Jovotic gets Injured.
