AC Milan were in a rampant mood at San Siro as they went 3-0 up against Stade Rennais after less than an hour of their Europa League play-off first leg.
In the 53rd minute the game on the night was pretty much put to bed, and it was thanks to that familiar combination on the left between Theo Hernandez and Leao. The winger played a lovely backheel to the full-back, who then played a perfect cut-back to him which was met by a powerful first-time finish not dissimilar to the one against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia.
😭 LEAO, TO THEO, TO LEAO. IT’S BEAUTIFUL!

Beautiful goal. Forza Rafa, you deserve it.
Wow. That’s a way to get back to scoring. Wow.
I really envy Giroud.
He is watching the game live from the pitch.
Last time he was playing for Napoli, today for Rennes…
No idea why Jovic isn’t playing in his red hot form.
Nonsense. Giroud is very important for the side tactically speaking, not only for the goals he score.
@Gre-No-Li, yeah yeah yeah yeah he is important… To be on the pitch is important
Mirjalol, please go watch Theo’s goal vs Napoli and pay attention to Olivier movement, and then come back and tell us if you understand what happened there.
Same, I don’t understand why Jovic did not play this game, but that doesn’t mean Giroud is useless. For me it’s because he also needs to rest, he’s a 38 yo man and needs some rest. But who knows, maybe Pioli wanted to make sure the guys make a good game 1st round vs Rennes and Olivier has better moves off the ball compared to Jovic. Just pay attention at how Giroud creates spaces and how he draws opposing players after him, thus creating room for maneuver for Theo and Leao. Jovic is also in good form but he needs balls in the 11m box to tap in and Pioli did not prepare the game like this, we did not put a lot of pressure on the opposing team, but we scored in counterattacks
@MFX yeah I watched that game live from stadium.
He participated in that goal… And that was all in entire game.
Don’t act like you know something that we don’t know
Ok sir, I’m sorry. You know better because you watched the game live from the stadium.
Leave Giroud alone. Seriously. One of our leading scorers of the season and we wouldn’t be in the top 4 without him. Lay off.
I was there too and I saw Giroud participating in the game well. Don’t act like you were the only one in the stands and especially the only one who knows anything.
What’s up boy!?
Did you watch the game vs. Monza?
Are you happy now?
Leave Giroud alone. Hes one of our leading scorers this season. Without him where would we in the table? No this game wasn’t perfect for him… and yes I’d like to see Jovic more… but lay off Giroud.
All the top trams need to replace their goalscoring striker with a player who makes room for others. Can you imagine what Man City could achieve if they replaced Haaland with a Giroud type player or if Napoli sell Osimeh for a striker who’s figures were inflated by penalties. If Jovic had any sense he would leave Milan because he can’t get a game when in form and scoring regularly. Maybe we should swap goalkeeper for one who doesn’t save but creates space for the defenders to block the shots off the line instead.
