Fikayo Tomori made a quite simply astonishing tackle to deny Newcastle United a certain goal during last night’s 2-1 victory at St. James’ Park.
A move down Milan’s right side saw Joelinton slip away to the byline and pull back a cross that was just begging to be smashed home by Miguel Almiron, however Tomori managed to get across and put his foot on the ball just as the Paraguay international was about to fire into an empty net.
🏴😤 This piece of defending from Fikayo Tomori last night was absolutely class!

This is why it is important to be able to play the game with both feet. If Almiron had the confidence to tap it in with his right foot that is 100% a goal. Unbelievable defending from Tomori regardless. pic.twitter.com/jrHjtp3xXM

He is by far our best player for last 3–4 years. People talk about Leao or Giroud, but without him, we are just a mid-table team. I hope he stays fit and we see more performance like this.
Amen, even more impressive when you’re at the stadium for those lucky enough to go, you can see his recovery speed is insane. He was lacking positioning but this play shows he has improved. Our best CB by far for the past three seasons, but “fans” howled we should sold him after his red card.
They do realize it was him, Kjaer and Kalulu with their impressive rock solid defense that we were able to have such a good form in the later half of our scudetto season. Such a pity, favoritism runs deep among the fans.
Reminiscent of the wave of new “fans” arriving in 2007 because Kakà was very hyped. Even if the Internet wasn’t as developed as today, you could read these “fans” saying we should sell Nesta or Maldini or Seedorf to buy Freddy Adu the next Pelé hahaha
We would concede plenty of goal in this match if there’s no Tomori and Mike who made multiple superb saves.
And the crazy thing is, some m0r0ns in here thinks Tomori and Mike are average and they want the management to sell both players. Fkin nuts.
Reminds me of that Dortmund clearance (Subotic?) In the UCL final few years back against Bayern (I believe, I’m old memory might be rough)
Yeah, the Robben one right?
Sule also did an amazing clearance yesterday.
Yes I think it was Robben..my memory is bad but I remembered Robben that game too. Was a great game. But that clearance was more goal line than taking it off the player like Tomori did. I think Tomori’s one was more difficult, he had to clear the ball and not foul at the same time..dude is a straight up beast
