AC Milan Women clinched their first point since Davide Corti took over the team earlier today, drawing 1-1 against Napoli. Emelyne Laurent was the big hero with a 96th-minute equaliser for the Rossoneri who, however, continue to struggle.
It has been a very disappointing start to the season for Milan Women, collecting just ten points in eleven games and that is including today’s win. Furthermore, not much has changed since Corti took over the team from Maurizio Ganz, who was sacked at the end of November.
Corti did, however, claim his first point with Milan Women today. The Rossonere missed many chances throughout the game and were punished in the 58th minute, when Napoli took the lead through Eli del Estal.
A lot of injury time was added to the game by the referee and this ended up favouring Milan, who scored the elusive equaliser through Laurent as mentioned. It crossed the line in the 96th minute and the game ended shortly thereafter.
Juventus are up next for Milan Women in the new year (now a break) and it will be a very tough game, considering that the Bianconere are in second place. However, these are the games the Rossonere need to win to catch up.
