The AC Milan management are aiming to satisfy Stefano Pioli’s request by signing another central defender, but they are unlikely to land their main target Alessandro Buongiorno.
Even though there are reports stating Milan will try one more time for Buongiorno in the coming days, Calciomercato.com report that technical director Geoffrey Moncada has begun to look into alternatives so they are not left empty handed.
The source state that Milan directors recently held new talks with Clement Lenglet and his entourage to try and gauge whether a deal might be possible now for the Aston Villa defender, who is on loan from Barcelona.
However, two obstacles emerged from the discussions: the first is the 28-year-old’s high salary and the second is that Villa boss Unai Emery does not want the loan to be ended early because it would leave them short in defence.
Meanwhile, Longo states in the article that Arsenal have opened the door a bit regarding Jakub Kiwior’s future, having previously ruled out the idea of him leaving this month.
The had rejected approaches from several Serie A clubs who wanted to bring the former Spezia star back to Italy but now they seem to be opening up to the possibility of a six-month loan, which the Diavolo could take advantage of.
