Zlatan Ibrahimovic decided to visit the AC Milan squad in the dressing room after last night’s defeat against Monza, one that leaves a very bitter taste in the mouth.
Milan had a nightmare evening against their Lombardy neighbours Monza as they conceded twice late on to lose 4-2 in a dramatic encounter at the U-Power Stadium.
A penalty from Pessina and a deflected shot from Mota had the home side two goals up going into the break, and then Luka Jovic’s red card early in the second half seemed to end the contest.
However, Milan roared back in the second half to level it with 10 men as Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic scored to bring it back to 2-2. Then, Bondo made it 3-2 and then Colombo scored against his parent club to make sure of the win.
According to what is being reported by DAZN (via MilanNews), Ibrahimovic went to the dressing room to be with the team after the full-time whistle, having been present at the stadium given his role as Senior Advisor.
It once again demonstrates that Ibrahimovic is functioning as a team manager of sorts, wanting to be close to the squad in difficult moments, which last night certainly was.
List of poor performers:
Chukwueze – MONEYBALL MONCADA Signing – has been bad all season. 30m down the drain. Who exactly scouted this guy?
He can’t dribble, can’t beat serie A opponents and can’t hold the ball. He can’t shoot and is mediocre at crossing (Florenzi was better!) either so what exactly is his purpose as a winger? I don’t get the joke.
Okafor – MONEYBALL MONCADA Signing – has been OK in the past because he was played as a CF, not LW. He is NOT a winger and never will be at the top level. He isn’t explosive and doesn’t have the talent, skill or speed. But hey, it’s Pioli so I expect poor choices. (He would be better suited to a formation with 2 CF, like Inter, not us. Bad choice Moncada.)
Jovic – MONEYBALL MONCADA Signing – We signed him instead of signing a good forward, because the talented forwards cost money so they took other offers. Honestly, give the situation I would have signed him too.
Actually hasn’t done too badly overall but last game showed a huge weakness in his character. You cannot risk him ruining your CL run. Wasted chance from him, Moncada gets a pass.
Thiaw – Back from injury. Wasn’t ready to start fitness wise. Risky decision from Pioli & medical staff and it did not pay off.
Pioli – poor decisions aplenty but the players also failed him today. Despite that, his decisions and tactics against Monza (both before and during the game) were abysmal.
That’s ignoring our pass merchant Reijnders, Musah and Adli as our typical starting midfielders. From Bennacer, Kessie and Tonali to ….. this. Epic sad.
Common denominator – our mgmt – scouting is bringing in the wrong players who don’t fit the system. Secondly, Pioli is just throwing merda on the wall and trying to see what sticks.
