AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud is very tempted by the prospect of a Major League Soccer move come the end of the season.
As mentioned byLa Gazzetta dello Sport, the French striker is coming to the end of his contract with the Rossoneri which is set to run out in the summer of 2024.
Whilst talks have been ongoing about an extension, Giroud may decide bring his time at the club to a close at the end of this campaign and embark on a new adventure.
He knows that if Milan have their way in the transfer window this month or in the summer, this will probably be his last season as the starting striker for the Diavolo.
Plans are in place to bring in a new striker as soon as possible, one that can be the long-term replacement for Giroud.
Giroud is thought to have a genuine interest in spending part of his career in MLS, and he would almost certainly be able to earn more money there than he would with any Milan contract renewal.
Stefano Pioli has already reached a point of resting Giroud semi-regularly, so it might be clear to all parties that this summer is the right time to part ways.
Time to bring a proper striker worthy of Milan.

How long are you trying to hold onto him for? Another two 2-5 years? Is he your striker for the future?
Until Milan has the money to bring in a world-class goal-poacher. So far the names on the list aren’t on that level.
Stats-wise, Giroud is playing the best season with Milan. With this rate he can reach 20 goals. I’m sure he could be useful for one more year.

It might be a good time for him to depart but it would mean probably losing Pioli AND Giroud in the one summer so…another….reset…..
