AC Milan suffered two more injury problems during the win over Monza on Sunday, with Tommaso Pobega and Noah Okafor both hobbling off in the first and second half respectively.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), there will sadly be long recovery times for both, especially for the midfielder. As for the Swiss forward, he is struggling with a lesion of a deep flexor muscle, the semimembranosus, and is expected to return to the pitch at the end of January.
It will take a little longer for Pobega, who risks having to undergo an operation after suffering damage involving the tendon component of the rectus femoris which inserts into the left hip. Today, the Italian is scheduled for a decisive consultation for the choice between the operation and a therapy programme.
It is a big blow for both players and also for head coach Stefano Pioli, who was just starting to recover some depth in each department.
Is Pobega “depth” though – that’s the question. Okay he’s looked slightly less like a drunk donkey the last couple of games but Milan quality he ain’t.
He definitely is NOT Milan quality. Nice kid, I feel bad for him, but he should have stayed with Torino. He’d play more.
Okafor though, sees glimpses of the field through injury and yet 4 goals already to his name.
