Journalist Carlo Pellegatti believes that AC Milan have now hit rock bottom after the draw away at Salernitana on Friday night which is likely to leave them even further from Inter and Juventus.
As was said by the journalist on social media (via Milan News), the Rossoneri need to ensure that things only get better from this point on.
Salernitana have been rooted to the bottom of Serie A for most of the campaign so far which means that anything other than a win against them is a real failure for a team that should be challenging for the Serie A title.
Pellegatti also mentioned the fact that one of Milan’s most reliable players, Fikayo Tomori, also now has an injury which means the defensive crisis has only gotten worse.
“We have hit rock bottom. Not only for having drawn against the last in the table. The team showed involution, and after Fazio’s equaliser another injury, number 30. A nightmare. This time it was the turn of one of the survivors, Tomori,” Pellegatti said.
“It’s incredible, we only have Kjaer among the starters. Luckily Milan managed to draw in the end, but it didn’t change the verdict. Now Milan must return to the market with fresh money. Loans alone are not enough. Only Kjaer is left, with Simic and Hernandez if necessary.”
As Pellegatti mentions, Milan simply must head into the transfer market and come out of it with at least one new central defender, preferably two.
