Journalist Carlo Pellegatti has offered his thoughts on the players that AC Milan could attempt to sign in the January transfer window.
Speaking during an interview with Radio Rossonera, Pellegatti was asked about which players the Rossoneri could sign in January given it is believed that there is money to be spent if the right opportunities arise.
One of the players that has been linked is Atalanta’s Matteo Ruggeri to become Theo Hernandez’s backup at left-back.
Pellegatti thinks that he would be a worthwhile signing for a certain price, but offered up another name if Ruggeri proves to be more expensive than expected.
“I read about Atalanta’s Ruggeri for the left flank. If the cost is €8 million, that’s one thing. If it’s €18-20m… Then there’s Miranda, who could be a player to take,” he said.
Pellegatti also provided a reason for Milan not to sign Porto striker Mehdi Taremi during the January window, referencing registration rules and the interest of Inter.
“On Taremi I told you no, because next year the five years pass and he would lose his Portuguese EU passport and you can’t take him if he leaves in January. In June it’s possible, but I read that Inter are also involved. Hopefully there are no emergencies, but Milan are well placed,” he said.
Taremi almost joined Milan on deadline day in the summer but the move fell through at the end, leading to Luka Jovic’s arrival.
