AC Milan’s stadium project in San Donato is moving forward and according to a report, the projected capacity has been increased once again. After initial discussions of 60-70k, it’s now believed that the new stadium will be able to host 72k fans.
The political process is underway for Milan’s project in San Donato and despite some heated debates, the council has expressed positive opinions on the project. The Rossoneri are now awaiting a response on the variant presented, which is being evaluated by the council as we speak.
According to Il Cittadino, as cited by Francesco Nasato, the capacity of the stadium will be an impressive 72k. It’s the second time the projected capacity has been increased, as there were initially talks of 60-70k (which was heavily criticised by the fans).
In recent months, Milan have been talking about 70k across two rings, while San Siro has been sold out for almost every game at 72-75k. The bump to 72k for the San Donato project is thus not surprising, but indeed impressive as there will only be two rings compared to three at San Siro.
For now, however, Gerry Cardinale and Tim Romani (in charge of the stadium project) will have to wait for the San Donato council’s response on the project.
Not only cardinale a team like ours most have stadium more than 70k
