Arsenal have set a high asking price for reported AC Milan and Inter target Folarin Balogun, according to a report from England.
According to the latest from Sky in the UK, Inter are ‘seriously exploring’ a deal for Balogun having pulled out of the race to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea, viewing the USA international as an alternative and a profile for the future.
However, Arsenal are understood to value Balogun at £50m (€58m) which is well above what they would have spent on Lukaku. Meanwhile, Balogun is part of the Gunners squad that flew out to the USA for their preseason tour.
Manager Mikel Arteta has not given much away as he responded with a simple ‘we will see what happens’ when questioned about Balogun’s future after a season in which he scored 22 goals for Stade de Reims on loan.
Gianluca Di Marzio reported yesterday that Balogun is also a target for Milan as they look to sign a centre-forward.
Milan is not signing for €58M. Let’s just end that conversation right now and not waste journalistic time to dedicating any resources towards following this!
Let our rival sign him for nearly 60m++ 😀
Let Inter have him. (I’m not sure they are that crazy).
Milan is in this race to increase the price for Inter. This is very good ‘thing’ to do as Inter is putting their nose into our transfers even though they are not interested in players
He’s had one good season. 50 million is ridiculous. If he was worth 50 million Arsenal would be keeping him because Jesus gets a few injuries and Haevertz isn’t great as a striker either. He’s worth 25 mil at the most.
Havertz is not a striker, they didn’t sign him to play there.
I know he isn’t a striker he’s an attacking midfielder. Chelsea and Germany use him as a false 9 but I don’t think he’s particularly great at it. The only reason I said what I said is that I can’t really see him playing anywhere else at Arsenal unless Arteta changes formation so he can play as a 10.
He’s a guy with big potential, and a possible starter for the host nation of the USA World Cup. He’s a massive asset for them and they have no real need to sell, I think that valuation makes a lot of sense (especially if you consider it a starter point for negotiation)
Welcome to football in 2023, courtesy of the state-owned clubs so many here wish we we were. But hey, we’ve taken advantage too, as Tonali is not a 64m player. 🤷
Exactly.
Please explain us what would be the difference between being owned by an oil state or by a Wall Street investment funds? Besides the ambition to win trophies, of course. Do you really think it’s more romantic to have Jerry as the owner, a guy who’s thinking business day and night and didn’t know Milan won 7 UCL? I’m not sure of your point here.
By the end of the week it’ll be 65m. Pass.
Havertz is not a striker, they didn’t sign him to play there.
For that money you can start talking about Jonathan David.
58M lol.. Add a bit more and we can go for Vlahovic instead..
Yeah. 100x safer and better bet.
Bye2 Balogun
Hahahahahaha
Redbird already stated one player max 30m euro . ACM can say bye2 to balogun after hear arsenal asking price 58m euro .
He said he’s not agreeing to go on loan again, and they have no plans to keep him this season. If they do, it would be as 3rd/4th striker where he’d rarely play and his value would do nothing but go down. They are going to sell him this summer, it’s just the only move that works for all parties. So this pricing, which is a bluff based off the fantasy that selling him would be some decision they could be convinced of but have no intention of doing otherwise, is all just bluster.
I know he isn’t a striker he’s an attacking midfielder. Chelsea and Germany use him as a false 9 but I don’t think he’s particularly great at it. NEXT
Lol he is worth half that at best. Just loan Ekitike from PSG and focus on the right wing
inter will probably get a deal done for 45-50 which is similar to what lukaku 40+8m in wages would have costed
Ok So Inter is also going for Morata now – soooo
They will have:
Martinez
Correa
Thuram
Balogun AND
Morata
as forwards…
Sounds great! and how will they afford all that given the big black hole they are in financially?
