The stances of Stefano Pioli and the AC Milan management regarding the future of Pierre Kalulu could be about to clash.
As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it confirm, the Calciomercato.com report regarding Pioli’s stance is correct. The Milan boss wants the Frenchman to stay beyond the summer window because he is the first alternative to both Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori.
This is an opinion that will obviously be taken into account by the Rossoneri management but they do not consider Kalulu to be non-transferable.
The Bayern Munich hypothesis could in fact become concrete if the Bavarians decide to offer an amount between €30-35m for the former Lyon man, which would guarantee Milan a pure capital having signed him for just over €1m three years ago.
Kalulu could therefore leave for a high enough offer and there is a replacement already in mind: Konstantinos Koulierakis, a 19-year-old centre-back owned by PAOK Thessaloniki and valued at around €10m.
Konstantinos Koulierakis is better than Kalulu. He’s stronger, taller, good in the air, better at playing the ball out from the back and he’s also left footed.
This would be smart business by Milan management to sell Kalulu for 30-35m and buy Konstantinos Koulierakis for 10-15m.
No it’s not. Paok asks too much money for a 18-19 yr old defender which is crazy 🤣. They can get Maxine Esteve or Strahinja Pavlovic or Omari or Kevin Danso. And for koulierakis no one wants him especially for that price so … He’s not no-one replacement
The problem with that is how will he adjust to Serie A, Kalulu knows our league, he’s lifted a Serie A title being a integral part of the rotation. Bringing in a young kid with very little experience in top league situations is a massive risk, with the guys we brought in they had experience and European football experience at that. It’s a massive risk and swooping a French international that has come through their youth system with good experience for an unknown quantity like Koulierakis is a massive risk.
Being alternative to the two left-legged calabria isnt someting that you dream of ,maybe not even alternative to him but alternative to bench player florenzi,as we could see he used kjaer as sub for thiaw so he is not even the first alternative for a CB’s , all that at the age of 23 and very solid performances, and he played better than calabria and tomori, you cant blame a guy if he asks to go,they should only ask for the real amount of money,30 m is a joke
Can Koulierakis play as a RB?
The problem with selling Kalulu will be the RB position.
If there is a CB emergency prior to January, Milan can use Simic, Bartesaghi or even Caldara in the middle of the defense. But there is no one besides Calabria and Florenzi as RBs, and they are both unreliable health wise to be the only options there
Yes, Kalulu’s versatility must be counted also
This.
It’s so strange why the management is considering selling kalulu And replace it with a 19-year-old youth though we only have Tomori&thiaw For core positions , kjaer is too old and pelegrino just arrived .
Because everyone is on the market for a fair price, especially players like Kalulu who was brought in for peanuts and now have high resale value. Thiaw and Pellegrino as well.
Good option would be Mazzochi, experienced in the league, can play RB and LB and very affordable, use remaining money from Kalulu for striker or DM like Ricci ??
Take Pavard and cash for Kalulu. We still need an experienced CB and we steal him from Inter?
A WIN! Duh………. 🙂
Agreed. Spot on!
Oh for fvck sake keep Kalulu. He can play CB and RB really well and doesn’t need to adapt anymore.
I would keep Kalulu. Only a really hefty bid at this point would change my mind. Let’s hope the board agree with this.
Not wise this late in the transfer window to sell Kalulu and replace him with a 19 yr old with zero experience and at a hefty 15M fee?? That’s crazy IMO. So our only experienced CB would be a 34-35yr old Kajer?? And we want to compete in CL? Ya sure. No way this should happen unless as @ACM1899 said above we swap him w Pavard and steal him from Inter – but even then Kalulu can play RB (and I don’t think Pavard can) and prob should be starting there as both Calabria and Florenzi are constantly injured and don’t provide much moving forward. Pass on this one this late in window.
Pavard is primarily a right back.
Call Adam Bakoune from primavera skuad to senior skuad. If he good performance in senior skuad, Kalulu can sell.
F@ck Bayern – Kalulu’s one of ours..
….i dont think bayern will pay 30M for kalulu, since he got too many up and (much much) down , even with a scudetto title he is still not a very reliable cb for us…
If they pay around 30m objectively we should sell. Can get Koulierakis and a DM or use the remaining 20 for a striker like Taremi, etc.
I agree – I’d only sell if we have a solid replacement and for 30+mil. Also Kalulu hasn’t exactly been Mr solid at the back lately – his greatest strength is his versatility right now.
Don’t sell Kalulu period,he can also start as a right back, let’s concentrate on buying a sriker and a right back who can be more solid than Calabria.
Thanks.
