Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Rafael Leao in view of the summer, a report claims, but what filters from AC Milan is a lack of concern.
According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, Leao has trained with quality over the course of this week to be ready for a big game – namely the one against Napoli – which has often seen him as a protagonist in the recent past.
He has been without a league goal for a long time and now the Portuguese winger must start moving through the gears to try have a second part of the season worthy of his talent.
Next summer, barring any twists and turns, will see Kylian Mbappè on the move. The forward has now decided not to renew his contract with PSG to start a new stage of his career at Real Madrid.
It is a transfer that will change the balance of the transfer market and should also interest Milan because PSG owner Al-Khelaïfi is ready to listen to Luis Campos’ advice on Leão.
The sporting director of the French club has been crazy about the qualities of Leao since their time together at Lille, so he is PSG’s main target to replace Mbappe.
PSG’s interest in Leão arose in the summer of 2023 precisely in conjunction with the farewells of Messi and Neymar. However, the Parisians did not go beyond a request for information with agent Jorge Mendes, who was close to Leão’s family at the time.
Now the intentions are certainly more concrete with the possibility of offering the Portuguese the role of symbol of the new course. It should be underlined that, to date, there have been no official contacts between the parties.
The relationship between Milan and Leão remains idyllic and there is no concern at the moment.
To qoute Steve Miller, “Take the Money and Run”. Leao is better off on a team where he is not the star. He gets away with so much at ACM because he is the man. By getting away with so much I mean ball retention and not playing defense. Can you see this happening with Conte or Man City or RM? Piroli is not a big enough name to go head to head with Leao. In fairness, I think Leao would play better at PSG because he would be held more accountable. Well, considering it’s PSG, maybe not. ACM would get better by adding an attacking right back, a DM, and a forward to compete with Giroud or if he leaves.
‘To quote…..’ LOL
Let’s brace ourselves for the worse. You make a good point, it might just elevate his game but Milan still doesn’t have an answer for when Leao is not performing. The unintended consequence might just be that the team will start to function as a unit without him or maybe selling him will give us the budget to get suitable replacements. Either way, we will have to make the best of the hand we are dealt next summer.
It seems like Milan wants to sell Leao more than PSG wants to buy him lol
It would be nice if PSG got them both leao and Theo for his left flank. 220m for 2 players no issue for PSG.
