Although we haven’t reached the halfway point of this season yet, AC Milan are already looking at options for the next one. With a potential right-back replacement on the cards, Arnau Martinez has ended up on their radar.
Davide Calabria has done a good job at the start of this season and as the captain of the team, that is what you would expect. Alessandro Florenzi, on the other hand, has not performed with the same consistency and he’s not getting any younger either.
As a result, the Milan directors are planning for the future and while they intend to keep Florenzi, a young right-back could also arrive. According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Girona star Arnau Martinez is an option for the summer.
The 20-year-old has made eight league appearances from start this season and has assisted two goals. Girona, who surprisingly are the La Liga leaders currently, could part ways with Martinez in the summer as his contract will expire in 2025.
Milan are closely monitoring the situation, although the feeling is that they have other priorities. Everything will depend on the budget for the summer, as reinforcing the left-back and No.9 positions is more urgent. Some of these positions could be filled already in January, though.
No thanks, we don’t need a RB and if we did why get yet another cheap unknown import.
Samuele Birindelli from Monza would be a great option as back up to Calabria, serie A experienced, young and Italian
And don’t start with the growth decree shit ….other teams buy Italian so why can’t we
