Lazio defender Adam Marusic was full of praise for AC Milan ahead of tonight’s clash at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, despite the Rossoneri’s recent struggles.
The Milan players and management know it is going to a tough match against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico this evening. As per the events of last season where Milan triumphed over Lazio with the late goal from Tonali that ultimately led the team to lifting the Scudetto, it is possible that tonight’s match can prove to be a turning point that Pioli’s men need to re-ignite the season.
However, Lazio are part of the chasing pack only 4 points behind and starting to click under Sarri this season. It is worth noting that overall Lazio are on patchy form, winning their last game but failing to win in their previous three before that.
The match promises to be a fiery affair with both teams hoping that a win pushes them to some consistency, and Marusic gave an interview to Leggo.it (via The Laziali) ahead of the game, in which he was full of praise for Milan.
“Pioli’s Milan remain a great team, even though in recent matches they have failed to pick up many points and lost in the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa,” he said.
“We will have to stay focused for the full 90 minutes and beyond and play as we know how with enthusiasm and confidence. We know the value of this Milan team very well. Last season they deservedly won the Scudetto, thanks to a practically perfect second half.
“In order to beat them this time we will have to be perfect in every moment of the match and in all areas of the pitch, avoiding drops of tension and staying focused until the last second.”
Nice to hear the respect but in all honesty Lazio just have to avoid ugly mistakes in the back third and Milan’s forwards won’t do shit…
