The AC Milan management are hoping to collect a nice amount from the permanent sales of three players, which will boost the available transfer budget.
A lot of the focus at the moment is on potential signings that could come in during the January transfer window to bolster the squad, such as Alessandro Buongiorno of Torino, but there are some exits lined up too.
According to what Antonio Vitiello has written in his column for MilanNews, Milan will receive €3m from the sale of Junior Messias to Genoa. The winger went there on a loan with obligation to buy, and the clause was triggered last week.
Meanwhile, the Rossoneri will certainly collect €4.5m from Fenerbahce after Rade Krunic signed there. The formula is again a loan with obligation, but that clause is a formality as it will be triggered when they are mathematically safe (Fenerbahce currently lead the league).
Then, Vitiello adds that another €23m will arrive from the sale of Charles De Ketelaere. Yesterday he scored again and Atalanta are increasingly convinced by the idea signing him permanently after having already invested €3m in the summer on the loan.
The roughly €30m that will end up in the club’s coffers will be added to the transfer pot, more for the summer than for this month though.
CDK really is starting to shine at Atalanta, it’s almost certain we’re going to lose him.
What a shame Milan/Pioli couldn’t use his talent correctly.
It is good that he has started to show some kind of improvement. BUT he has 3 league goals in 18 games, not exactly a great return for a 35m striker.

Well first of all, Atalanta has a 23m buy option, not the 35m we paid for him. Also, his stats (7g, 5a) are about the same/slightly better than/as Leao (6g, 5a) this season.
That being said he didn’t work out with us and it’s fine to cut our losses while we can..
Yes Atalanta have to pay a loan fee plus signing fee plus bouns etc. Bottom line he cost 35m 18 months ago.
I would always use league stats as the fairest barometer.
For example Leao was playing CL vs very good opposition. CDK scored 2 goals in Europa League against Czech team Rakow!

I think Leao, while he’s good at providing dangerous situations in attack, can be replaced with a more dynamic player similar to Puli.

$23m is a lot of money. If he slips at all then Atalanta won’t pay it. Thiago Motta can then work with him in Milan to help win the Scudetto in Motta’s debut season.
If Atalanta do buy him then that’s $23m Thiago Motta can use on finding the right heir to Giroud.

He’s having the same problems of success Pioli had after a year and a half. Teams starting to close up and defend in numbers at the back when they play Bologna now. And they’re not doing well in that regard. The style is there but the results are starting to take a hit

CDK’s league goal tally has been less than impressive for Atalanta so if they redeem him great. He was never suited for Milan.
23 for CDK and a resale clause I believe, which we know Atalanta will make something more of him and sell him for 60mil. He’s contributing more than Leao this season. LOL!!!
