The Rade Krunic saga seems to be coming to an end with the midfielder heading towards Fenerbahce, but AC Milan will reportedly earn less than originally thought.
Krunic’s situation has been a strange one ever since the summer transfer window when Fenerbahce first came forward to express their interest in signing him, as well as Lyon, but they were rebuffed because Stefano Pioli saw him as a key part of his plans.
Pioli placed him in the middle of his new three-man midfield, but over time (and after an injury) he slipped down the hierarchies. Meanwhile, there were difficulties in renewal talks and then by December the relationship had totally broken down.
According to what is being reported by Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Milan and Fenerbahçe have just completed the paperwork related to the documentation for the permanent transfer of Krunić to the Turkish club.
The final figures of the operation are as follows: €3m as the fixed base plus €1-1.5m in bonuses. In the early afternoon Krunić will travel to Turkey by plane to begin his new adventure with his friend and compatriot Edin Dzeko.
TMW and MilanNews had previously reported that the deal would be worth €5m plus bonuses, rather than €4-4.5m including bonuses.
Of course, it’s Milan we’re talking about.
Still Milan have capital gain.
Krunic is in his last one and a half year of contract run. He demanded much more than it is reasonable for midfielder of his calibre. In 2024 he will be 31, and dropping in form.
He did well for Milan. Very thankful rotation player. Milan saved a lot for using him and not over investing in some different kind of players. And eventually Milan didnt released him for free, but managed to have some capital gain.
In the end there was no Furlani magic, was there? Milan accepted what Fener put on the table. why could they not all negotiate a higher fee? in banking terms, Krunic became a bad debt…
