Why Pioli decided not to have a press conference ahead of Monza clash

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli will not be speaking to the media today, as you may have noticed already, and fans will have to wait for the pre-match interview tomorrow. However, the decision not to have a press conference was rather expected.

Pioli spoke to the media ahead of the first leg against Stade Rennes, which Milan won 3-0, and he will also host a press conference ahead of the second leg next week. Therefore, he decided along with the Milan press office not to have a press conference today.

Usually, Pioli speaks to the media at Milanello at 14:00 or 14:30 CET, so those who usually watch it will have noticed the absence already. As said, the manager will be interviewed an hour or so before the game tomorrow, so that has been deemed as enough.

The Milan squad trained at Milanello as usual, though, and continues their preparations ahead of the game tomorrow. There have been some contradicting reports regarding the XI, and with no answers from the press conference, fans will have to wait until tonight for more concrete updates.

The game is scheduled for 20.45 CET and after the 3-0 win in the reverse fixture, the Rossoneri will be looking to add another three points to their tally. Monza manager Raffaele Palladino did speak to the press and had some interesting things to say.
