Monza manager Palladino praises and warns Milan: “A few weaknesses to exploit”

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of tomorrow’s clash against AC Milan, Monza manager Raffaele Palladino spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on what will be a ‘difficult’ evening. However, he made it clear that the Rossoneri are not unbeatable.

Milan are nine games unbeaten in the league, registering seven wins and two draws, and also managed to beat Stade Rennes 3-0 on Thursday evening. Monza, on the other hand, have only won one of their last five games in the league (2D, 2L).

Speaking to the media at his press conference, as cited by MilanNews, Palladino shared his thoughts on the clash and what Monza will have to do to win. He concluded by stating that Milan have a few weaknesses that they want to exploit.

On the game…

“We will face a very strong Milan and it won’t be easy to come away with points, but we will try to put them in difficulty.”

How to stop Milan…

“By playing a perfect match from every point of view, taking care of every detail also because we are facing a very confident team and which comes from many positive results. From my point of view, they are still in the running for the Scudetto, Monza will have to play a perfect match. I asked the players for trust, lightness and carefreeness. And courage in playing it.”

On Loftus-Cheek…

“An extraordinary player, for me he has everything and is of international level. He has technique, positioning and experience, almost like an extra striker. He had already impressed me in August [during the pre-season friendly] but Milan also have other top players, we must pay attention to everything and everyone.”

Is there a quality in particular that you fear about Milan?

“Milan have many qualities, they defend well and attack well. Pioli is doing an excellent job both in the league and in the Europa League. A team that knows what to do and when to do it. Difficult to face, but they are not unbeatable, we will try to put them in difficulty by exploiting a few weaknesses they have.”

The game is scheduled for 20:45 CET and it looks like Stefano Pioli could play Jan-Carlo Simic from start. The youngster scored in the reverse fixture, which finished 3-0 in favour of the Rossoneri, and will be looking to impress once again tomorrow.
