AC Milan have not yet made a decision on whether or not to move on from Stefano Pioli at the end of the season, but they do have a shortlist of possible replacements.
According to what is being reported by Matteo Moretto for CaughtOffside’s Daily Briefing, Milan are focused on the league and the Europa League and they want to do the best they possibly can in each competition without any distractions.
At the end of the season, both the Milan management and Pioli will meet to discuss what to do next and come to a decision, and ‘everything is still to be resolved’ contrary to the rumours that a parting is inevitable.
It goes without saying that Milan have to be prepared and they ‘have various options in mind’ as per Moretto, one of whom is the former Wolves and Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui who is currently out of work.
Lopetegui has had and still has offers in the Premier League, but he is ‘waiting for the right project to convince him’ which could well be Milan if they were to make their interest more concrete.
The Rossoneri ‘have a shortlist of two or three managers’, the journalist adds, but he reiterates that the end of the Pioli era is far from a guarantee.
