AC Milan Primavera secured a crucial win this afternoon in their pursuit of the league title, beating Frosinone by two goals away from home. Diego Sia and Hugo Cuenca were the protagonists, but it was far from an easy game.
Ignazio Abate’s boys headed into the clash without a win in the last two games, drawing in the derby against Inter and then suffering a disappointing 3-2 loss against Verona. Therefore, they wanted to bounce back and they managed to do so.
The conditions were not great, with heavy rain throughout the entire game and a pitch that left a lot to be desired. Nevertheless, Milan managed to take the lead in the 30th minute after a great move. Hugo Cuenca won back the ball and combined brilliantly with Francesco Camarda, who picked out Diego Sia for an easy goal.

It wasn’t the start of an easy afternoon, though, as Frosinone stood up well and had chances of their own. In the 66th minute, one of the home side’s players was sent off after a rather nasty tackle on Alexander Simmehlack, and in hindsight this was a pivotal moment in the game.
Despite the red card, in fact, Frosinone continued to push on and did have a few chances to find the equaliser. Instead, with seconds left on the clock, Hugo Cuenca dribbled his way past the Frosinone defence and fired a shot/cross into the box, getting a bit lucky with the outcome.

It was an important win for Milan Primavera, who now are just on point behind Inter (who will play later today)
